"Pat" is the bengali word for "Jute". Photos from a religious festival.
Diamond Harbour is a lovely little town on the bank of the Ganges. The river connects many lives in many ways. There are families who travel from other states to this little town to work in the brick fields to earn very little. They come, work hard, stay for a long time and return to their native land after the season ends. Children of these families come to this land with their parents, they make friends, play with local kids who are living around the river bank and brick fields as their parents work as fishermen. Some of their friendships never get a chance to get old as they have to leave the town after a certain time. Few of the migratory laborers come back again and some of them never return. But the river never stops stops flowing.
"Kojagori" is the first full moon night of autumn.
"Saptami" -one of the five days of the Durgapuja Festival.
"Shakti" is the bengali word for power, and it also has an esoteric meaning.
When our soul floods with purity and joy, we smile- it is the purest expression of happiness.
When I started taking photographs, I did not know the purpose of photography, but somehow I realized, a smile is precious and it is worth archiving.
I searched for smiling faces. Happiness can come to us in any form, it does not discriminate if we are poor or rich, black or white, wise or stupid.
