They chatter, they scream, they laugh and yet they can ask questions that are mind-boggling. We, the adults are the presumptuous ones. We are burdened with societal decorum, preoccupied with judgement and obscured with status and greed. But when it comes to protecting our environment, preserving the eco-system and putting an end to pollutions; we are reluctant, we put a blind eye to things.
It is the young jovial spirits we look forward to. It is their innocence and inquisitive nature that we put our hopes into. Through these minds, we want to inculcate compassion for nature, logical and rational thinking and a quest for the world around us. For these reasons, Harbour Jam organised a 2-hour long workshop for the children up to class 4 at Diamond Harbour Rabindra Bhaban on 24th December. In this workshop, the children learnt about nature, climate, its different elements and how to protect them. At the concluding session, they learnt to make toys from the disposed plastic bottles.
