What is happening this year?
This year the events at the Harbour Jam Festival are designed to celebrate local culture and creativity while fostering a deeper connection to the community.
Live music is a cornerstone of our festival, and we take pride in promoting and supporting independent musicians.
One of our main attractions revolves around showcasing local handicrafts and organic products, providing an opportunity for local artisans and organic farmers to display their talents and supporting them.
We are also dedicated to documenting the lives around Diamond Harbour through photo and video documentations.
To deepen our commitment to the environment, we are organising environmental awareness programs and panel discussions, which can encourage participants to reflect on the importance of environmental conservation and inspire them to take action for a sustainable future.

অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলেছে আগামী ২৩ আর ২৪ ডিসেম্বর, ডায়মন্ড ক্লাবের মাঠে। এই অনুষ্ঠান প্রকৃতি এবং শিল্প নিয়ে ভাবনা চিন্তা এবং তা নিয়ে কাজ করার একটি প্রচেষ্টা - হারবার জ্যাম যারা পরিচালনা করছেন তারা বেশির ভাগই ছাত্র ছাত্রী, কেউ শিল্পী, কেউ বা বিজ্ঞানী, কেউ শিক্ষক বা শিক্ষিকা। তাদের সবার পক্ষ থেকে আপনাদের কাছে আমাদের এই চিঠি।
আমরা সবাই আমাদের এই প্রিয় শহর ডায়মন্ড হারবার কে নিয়ে ভাবি এবং বিগত বছরগুলিতে প্রকট হয়ে ওঠা প্রাকৃতিক সামাজিক পরিবর্তন নিয়ে চিন্তিত। সারা পৃথিবী জুড়ে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের বাইরে আমাদের এই শহর পড়ে না, তার নানারকম প্রভাব দৈনন্দিন জীবনে আমাদের চোখে পড়ে এবং আমরা জানি না পরবর্তী প্রজন্ম কি ভাবে তার সাথে লড়াই করবে। এর জন্যে আমাদের নানা রকম বিভেদ ভুলে এক সাথে কাজ করা দরকার, অথবা যারা এই কাজ করছেন তাদের দিকে সাহায্যের হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয়া দরকার।
হারবার জ্যাম এর দু দিন ব্যাপী অনুষ্ঠানে এই জিনিষগুলিকে মাথায় রেখে নানা ধরণের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে-
১) স্থানীয় এবং কাছাকাছি যে সমস্ত সংস্থা এবং মানুষেরা জলবায়ু সংরক্ষণের কথা মাথায় রেখে বিভিন্ন জিনিস তৈরি করছেন এবং একসাথে লোকজনদের রোজগারের সুযোগ করে দিচ্ছেন, তাদের কে আমরা আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছি যে তারা এই দু দিন আমাদের কাছে আসবেন, তাদের তৈরি করা জিনিস আমাদের শহরের মানুষজনের কাছে দেখাতে পারবেন ।
২) কচি কাঁচা দের জন্যে বৈজ্ঞানিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি এবং পরিবেশ সচেতনতা সম্বন্ধে ওয়ার্কশপ- খেলাধূলা, গল্পের মাধ্যমে জনজীবনে দূষণ ও জলবায়ুর পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব সম্পর্কে ধারণা, ফেলে দেওয়া জিনিস দিয়ে মজার পরীক্ষা নিরীক্ষা এবং ব্যবহারযোগ্য জিনিস বানানোর কৌশল
৩) স্থানীয় এবং অন্যান্য শিল্পীরা তাদের গান বাজনা পরিবেশন করবেন। আমাদের এই শহরেই অনেকে আছেন যারা প্রতিভাবান শিল্পী, তারা আমাদের সাথে আছেন ।
৪) আলোকচিত্র এবং তথ্যচিত্র প্রদর্শনী - হুগলী নদীতে জলস্তর বৃদ্ধি এবং নদী বাঁধ ভেঙে যাবার ফলে নদীতীরবর্তী এলাকার মানুষের জীবন যাত্রায় পরিবর্তন, ডায়মন্ড হারবার অঞ্চলের সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য এবং তাদের ঐতিহাসিক প্রাসঙ্গিকতা নিয়ে কিছু তথ্য চিত্র দেখানো হবে।
৫) পরিবেশ নিয়ে আলোচনাচক্র- জলবায়ুর পরিবর্তন ও অপরিকল্পিত উন্নয়ন এ অর্থনীতি ও সমাজ জীবনে প্রভাব, বৈষম্য ও সম্ভাব্য আগামী পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে আলোচনা
হারবার জ্যাম এর আগের বছরে হয়েছিল রবীন্দ্র ভবনে। তার সমস্ত বিবরণ আমাদের ওয়েবসাইটে আছে। এই প্রয়াসের জন্য যে টাকা পয়সা প্রয়োজন ছিল তার সমস্তই বিভিন্ন মানুষজন এবং সংস্থার থেকে সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছিল। এই বছরও অনুষ্ঠানগুলি পরিচালনা করার জন্য আর্থিক সাহায্য একান্ত প্রয়োজন। আমাদের বিনীত অনুরোধ কিছু না কিছু ভাবে সাহায্য করার জন্য। UPI ব্যবহার করে আপনি হারবার জ্যামকে 8373857587-এই নম্বরে টাকা পাঠাতে পারেন।

What is Harbour Jam?
Harbour Jam is an inclusive community, supporting various arts practitioners and art forms. It is an inspiring space for artists, offering a convergence of elements from different artforms.
This community wants to create and sustain a space for displaying and sharing artworks, practice and cultivate ideas, and provide residency to the artists. Harbour Jam is global, with an aim to support local artists, where all share and learn through collaborations, but still have an identity of their own.
It is a collective of artists, where progressive and experimental work can be done to express and speak of the world.

The journey began on July 2018, when a group of artists from Diamond Harbour came together and performed at the South Bengal Museum, Diamond Harbour. Since then Harbour Jam has been crowdfunded and taken place in 2022, 2021 and 2019. Over the years the team has grown.

We promote a sustainable lifestyle and protection of natural and cultural heritage. There is a need to create a niche for independent artists of the region to collaborate and grow.

Harbour Jam organised a street session where people could come together. An evening of music, food, live paintings, images, fun and laughter. Few photos here.
Harbour Jam is working to create a common space for the artists and musicians where they can come together with their ideas and collaborate to create something unique. Our priority is to find out regional independent musicians who are talented and equally creative and support them towards sustainability. We are already in a process to document various musicians and their work. We are archiving their works on our Youtube channel and want to produce and circulate original works of musicians.
We at Harbour Jam aim for a waste-free environment and society,
We are
aiming to achieve ecosystems where waste can be treated as 'resources' and integrated into a business model by creating usable and decorative products.
Our objective is to
boost local economy and talent by bringing artisans to an inclusive single platform and providing them scope to nurture and grow. Various artists and skilled people from Diamond Harbour are working together to achieve the goal.
We want (to)-
archive works of senior artists from the region
give a platform to the younger generation to showcase their work and conduct workshops with them
publish photobooks and other photo products of local artists
create an information pool for the local photographers.
Our food corner is inspired by the food challenge set by the United Nation's "act now climate campaign". We would be providing 'sustainable, climate-conscious and delicious food ' to our visitors.
Panel discussions focusing on the state of environment and local issues, and possible strategies.
Workshops with children focusing on how to work with plastic wastes and turn them into toys.
We will be showing short Films, which thematise environmental issues. There will be screenings of films made by local artists.
Local writers, poets will read their writings. There will also be stalls from the local publishers.
